For four spectacular days (14th – 17th August) Southport Flower Show will inspire you with breathtaking show gardens, stunning floral displays, and expert gardening advice that will ignite your passion for plants, along with live cookery demonstrations, music and a whole host of entertainment offering families, gardening enthusiasts, food lovers, and more for a memorable day out.
At the heart of the show are its magnificent show gardens. Each is a testament to creativity and horticultural skill, designed by talented gardeners.
These gardens not only provide a feast for the eyes, but also serve as a source of inspiration for visitors looking to transform their own outdoor spaces.
Another highlight is the spectacular Grand Floral Marquee, a treasure trove of quality plants and flowers, trees and shrubs, bonsai, cacti, vegetables and herbs, as well as some of the more unusual plant varieties. You can also get on-the-spot advice from the people who actually grew the plants, and win your own Smooth VIP trip for four!
Celebrity guests and gardening gurus
This year's show will feature appearances by celebrity guests and gardening experts who will share their knowledge and passion for all things green in The Garden Theatre - including actors Kelvin and Liz Fletcher talking about their family farm. Justin Fletcher will be entertaining the families – don’t forget children under 16 go free.
Nick Bailey of BBC Two's Gardeners’ World, professional horticulturalist David Domoney, and Beechgrove Garden presenters Carole Baxter and George Anderson will also be present.
Whether you're seeking advice on plant care or looking for innovative design ideas, these sessions are not to be missed. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights that can be applied to their own gardening endeavours.
The Potting Shed, located in the Grand Floral Marquee, is a hub for gardening enthusiasts. Hosted by Martin and Jill Fish, it offers expert advice, floral art demonstrations, and insights into seasonal produce.
Culinary delights at the cookery theatre
Food enthusiasts will find plenty to savour at the Cookery Theatre, where professional chefs will demonstrate their culinary prowess live - including decorated pastry chef and Bake Off: The Professionals' judge Cherish Finden, self-taught TV chef Rosemary Shrager along with celebrity chef Phil Vickery.
Sponsored by Lancashire Tea and Nationwide Produce, this feature allows visitors to witness firsthand how fresh, local ingredients can be transformed into delicious dishes. After enjoying the cooking demonstrations, attendees can sample a variety of specialty foods and drinks available for purchase throughout the show.
Exciting entertainment
The arena promises non-stop entertainment with thrilling displays that include dog agility shows, captivating birds of prey demonstrations, and elegant horse performances.
The Enchanted Fields area has expanded this year with its wellness offerings with pilates, reflexology, aromatherapy, somatics, sound healing, children's mindfulness and yoga, and reiki healing from experts.
